The Albemarle County Police Department and Commonwealths Attorneys Office plan to hold a press conference Tuesday morning about Jesse Leroy Matthew Jr.
County Police Chief Col. Steve Sellers and Commonwealths Attorney Denise Lunsford will be speaking, according to a news release. The conference is scheduled to begin 11 a.m. in the Albemarle County Office Building on Fifth Street Extended.
In Charlottesville, Matthew, 33, is charged with abducting 18-year-old University of Virginia student Hannah Graham. Graham, who went missing Sept. 13 from the Downtown Mall, was last seen with Matthew. Her remains were found Oct. 18 on an abandoned property off Old Lynchburg Road in southern Albemarle.
Authorities have said forensics also link Matthew, of Albemarle, to Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington, who disappeared on Oct. 17, 2009. Her remains were discovered in early 2010 a half-dozen miles from where Grahams remains were located. ... No charges have been filed relating to either death.
