McConnell Offers Plan to Avoid Shutdown of Homeland Security Dept.

Senator Harry Reid, Democrat of Nevada and minority leader, said that Democrats would not allow any immigration legislation to come to a vote until they had an assurance from the House speaker, John A. Boehner, that the House would take up and pass the clean spending bill.

... is for enough House Dems to vote no on the clean spending bill that it won't pass unless the Crazy Clown Caucus comes out and votes for it. That'll get a few of 'em squirming!
