Hillary Clinton's first 2016 rally set for June 13

Source: Politico

[img][/img]

Hillary Clinton will hold her presidential campaign’s first major event, a formal announcement rally, on June 13, according to a post on her official Twitter account Thursday afternoon.

The Democratic 2016 front-runner had initially intended to host a large rally sometime in May after announcing her candidacy in April, but the event was delayed while Clinton raised campaign funds and held small events in the early-voting states.

It is unclear where the event will take place, but the campaign has recently been teasing it as a speech in front of “thousands of people.” It will be the candidate’s first large address, as most of her campaign appearances so far have been small round-tables with pre-selected locals.

After announcing her campaign with a video in April, Clinton has traveled to Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, California, and Washington, D.C. for campaign appearances and fundraising swings. There are plans for stops in the next few weeks in more early-voting states and campaign cash hubs such as South Carolina, Florida, Virginia, and Texas.

Just because I am concerned about some of the same things that some people on Fox news are concerned about doesn't make them right wing talking points. (The destruction of public e-mails on a private server, for one.)

By your line of reasoning, abolishing the death penalty must be a right wing talking point because the driving force behind it in Nebraska this past week were folks from the right wing.

If you disagree with the concern, address the concern - don't just label the speaker a troll and reject the concern because someone you don't agree with on anything also has a similar concern.

Tue May 26, 2015, 02:03 AM

sincerely believe that Hillary has the best chance of winning a general election in the US.

She is superbly qualified in every way as well as being an extremely intelligent woman. I believe firmly that it is LONG past time for a woman US President. From my very well informed POV (I have resided outside the US for nearly 30 years, >20+ of the most recent, and worked for international organizations for 17 years, many of those in senior positions), she also has the best foreign policy credentials and experience of any candidate in either party.

No, she is not perfect. But she is a LOT better than any of her detractors (some of them being well-paid for this) are trying to make out. I remember when many of the same techniques were used against Al Gore in 2000. When will we ever learn?

Also, in the final analysis - and unlike too many here who have said that they literally plan to throw their votes away if they don't get THEIR preferred candidate (I truly hope that they will see reason in 2016) - I will vote for whoever the Dem nominee is.

I love what Bernie is saying and I hope that he keeps on saying it. But Bernie is also an excellent Senator and we need to keep every single one of those that we have, not lose them in potentially quixotic contests.

A President is only one person and, as we have seen to our dismay, cannot get any policies through without a Congress that is willing to work with him/her. Too many people - and too many Dems - do not seem to understand this.

Yahoo reports that the vehicle was produced with all union labor and made in the USA, as any UAW-friendly Democrat would have to ensure.

Among other enhancements, Clinton's private ride is armor plated.

Armor is usually placed underneath the original exterior of the vehicle.

She said in a 2014 speech that it had been nearly two decades since she had driven a car, however, making it likely that she's being chauffeured around the midwest this week.

I agree, better than Romney, etc and the private jet... ugh. But my back aches just thinking of being in that thing so many miles!

all the candidates will have a lot of protection from hateful people.

And none of the candidate are itching to be martyrs or trophies on some right wing nutjob's social media page. Hillary's gender has not exactly inspired 'gentlemanly' behavior from the MRA's and RWNJs.

I predit the hatred will build just as it was for Obama since he dared to announce he was going to run for POTUS, no matter which Democrat gets in office.

If we win. Because hating on ALL Democrats, including HRC, is just so trendy now, don't ya know...

I think there are some serious differences between Sanders and Clinton. I think it's healthy to have the discussion. In hindsight the Progressives were absolutely right-it's good we have that differing vision of what our country should be.

Sat May 30, 2015, 06:29 PM
May 2015

Because the murderers were out in force as he was a candidate. Even HRC mentioned it.

No one in their right mind would ignore what the Secret Service is doing to try to save the life of a POTUS, or a candidate.

Romney had that protection with an entourage of at least 20 or more to protect him. That is part of the deal. And every candidate gets those funds spent to prevent chaos reigning. It doesn't matter who it is.

It's not marketing. Their lives are worth a little bit of effort, and I'm sure Bernie doesn't see his entourage as marketing, either. There are a lot of hateful, armed MRA's and RWNJs roaming about would kill any Democrat running for office.

All of my representatives had credible threats made against their lives and those of their entire familiies for endorsing the ACA in 2010. Medgar Evers, JFK, RFK and MLK, Jr. were not shot by people without a political agenda or egged on by those without a political agenda.

I wouldn't want to be a target for wingnuts and not do anything to protect myself. Would you?

It is not marketing a candidate.

Better safe than sorry. Besides, the campaign should be about where the candidates stand on the issues. I'm looking forward to her debates with Bernie.

the nominee, she needs to be able to enunciate her views in the vernacular of the public.

In any case, if it's O'Malley, HRC, Bernie or someone else that wins the primary, they must be able to cut through the billions of dollars of propaganda.

That RW machine is not waiting for the general election season to fill the ears of the gullible and work upon their emotions. As Thom Hartmann explained, and as Bernie explained, and HRC explained in nineties, there really is a machine that is well funded, beyond the dreams of any Dem, and does nothing but work to RF only Democrats.

It's been growing since the fifties. It's part of the national conciousness of Americans, repeated so often that their 'gut' tell them it's all true, but it's still a lie. Just one that people have difficulty seeing through.

I really look forward to a big field of condidates in the debates and hope they get away from that lousy President debate corporations format. And letting the corporate media ask the questions. I don't believe a thing they say and they're biased.

….vote for her against any Repub but I sure as hell can't cheer for her.

If she's the candidate, this will be glummest election season yet for true, base Dems.

Though you know we'll now hear from faux spews how she's trying to control the airwaves
We'll go from 'she's hiding' to 'she's sucking up all the air'
Not voting for her in the primary but good to see she'll be out for her supporters

The problem for the Republicans is... the Democrats weakest candidate (of those I've heard discussed to be running or possibly running:[in alphabetical order] Biden, Clinton, Kaine, O' Malley, Sanders, Schweitzer]) are better than anyone they have running or might consider running.

Hillary Clinton to Campaign in Texas June 3-4

Former U.S. Secretary of State and current presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has scheduled a trip to Texas on June 3 and 4, a campaign official said Tuesday.

An early theme of the Democratic front-runner's 2016 campaign has been working hard for every vote, even in traditionally Republican states like Texas.

During her Texas visit, Clinton plans to hold campaign events and raise money. Further details — including which cities she is set to visit — were not yet available Tuesday morning.

She doesn't reflect us. Bernie all the way. I was so happy when he announced he is running. I've watched him walk his talk. Something, I've have never seen Hillary do. She belongs to the old school appeal to the conservatives and older non-flexible senior citizen dems (and she is a war monger.) She doesn't reflect my values. Bernie does.
