Clinton E-mails Show Concern About Image After Benghazi Attacks
Source: Reuters
WASHINGTON (REUTERS) Top aides to former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton fretted over how she would be portrayed after the 2012 Benghazi attacks that killed the US ambassador to Libya and three other Americans, e-mails released on Friday showed.
The e-mails from Clintons personal e-mail account made public by the State Department do not appear to contain any revelations that could badly damage her bid for the presidency in 2016 or provide fodder for Republicans who accuse her of being negligent before the Benghazi attacks.
But they offer a glimpse into how Clintons team was concerned about her image immediately afterwards.
A senior adviser to Clinton, Jake Sullivan, forwarded an e-mail from a State Department official about positive media coverage of a statement she gave on Sept 12, 2012, the day after the killings.

(68,644 posts)Good grief. Obama was the only really decent choice we've made since I have been politically aware.
When I think of some of the great people who ran but were mowed over, Jerry Brown and Howard Dean and Ted Kennedy, I just want to cry.
Hillary, good grief, no wonder DU voted 10 to 1 in favor of Bernie Sanders.

(55,894 posts)No that's because Dennis Kucinich isn't running this time around.
Or John Edwards.
Or Howard Dean.
Or Ralph Nader.

(30,439 posts)Democratic voters will decide whether or not she gets the nomination during the primaries.
The voters picked Obama in 2008 and they may pick someone besides Hillary in 2016.
Patience, my dear NYC_SKP.
Patience.
May the best candidate win.

While i am 100% for bernie sanders and don't believe there is anything to Benghazi but her aides being concerned about her image is stupid when 4 americans were killed.

(3,290 posts)I would be more worried if her aides were not concerned about her image. I would think that is part of their job as it would be with any public figure especially on the world stage as SoS. Being cognizant of the fact that image is important does not preclude any concern about the Sept 11th attack by either Clinton or her aides.

(62,270 posts)...talking about how they should thank a pundit for schooling McCain. I can't be bothered to find it but it's in the first few pages of the dump.
edit: actually I have the PDF still, she said "Huma called him and Graham. Also, someone should call Greta VS to thank her for "knowing the truth."" With regards to her concussion. (McCain was trying to send a message that Clinton was dodging the Benghazi hearing over a fake injury.)
