Charleston shooting investigation widens to include possible charges against additional suspects
Source: RawStory/The Charlotte Observer
Authorities have expanded their investigation into the fatal shooting of nine black churchgoers by a white supremacist and more suspects could possibly face charges.
Investigators believe Dylann Roof traveled alone to Charleston where he opened fire on a Bible study at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church and fled by himself to North Carolina, where he was captured the following day.
But authorities suspect others knew of the 21-year-old gunmans plot, and some of them could be charged in connection with the killings, reported the Charlotte Observer.
Law enforcement sources told the newspaper that a joint state and federal investigation had widened to include persons of interest after reviewing Roofs cellphone and computer records.

(60,536 posts)if RS hadn't picked it up and published it. Ditto for Huffington Post, Talking Points Memo, Daily Kos, ThinkProgress and, sometimes, the AP and Reuters.
That's a clever trick, trying to distract by talking about a rewrite of a 1985 article. As a Forum Host, I'd definitely vote to Lock that article if you posted it in LBN.

I don't see the purpose in a poster's attempt to interfere in a thread which clearly is "news" to the rest of us. Sounds as if someone is trying to close the subject for discussion.

(32,020 posts)Investigators uncovered that information as they have pieced together where the gunman, Dylann Roof, 21, received his inspiration, and whether anyone else should face charges in connection with the murders.
To understand what happened, you have to understand who he talked to and who may have known what, said one law enforcement official briefed on the case. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they did not want to be identified discussing a continuing investigation.
