Police: 7-Year-Old Boy Shot In Head Likely An Accident
Source: CBS
Police in Aurora say a shooting of a 7-year-old child was likely an accident. According to Sgt. Chris Amsler, just before 4 p.m. Thursday officers responded to a shooting at a home in the 1000 block of North Vaughn Street, which is northwest of 6th Avenue and Interstate 225.
Amsler said a 7-year-old boy was transported to Childrens Hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot in the head.
The shooting was reported as accidental, but officers are investigating.
Police said the boy doesnt live in the home where the shooting occurred. He apparently went to the home with several other juveniles who were able to somehow get their hands on a gun.
Its not clear if any adults were home when the shooting happened or whether the gun was locked up.

We mustn't let the guilty off. Make them acknowledge their irresponsible behavior and then make them pay for their criminal deed.
Anything less is a crime itself against the memory of that child, and against the safety of the public.

(24,040 posts)...my a$$! As noted above, if a child can get at a loaded gun, it is negligence. End of story.

(51,687 posts)I think keeping a gun in the home is negligent, particularly a home with children. That's why we don't have a gun in the house.
