Ohio man accused of threatening Boehner ruled insane

Source: AP

By LISA CORNWELL

CINCINNATI (AP) — A former Cincinnati-area bartender who said he believed House Speaker John Boehner was the devil was found not guilty by reason of insanity Monday of threatening to kill the Republican lawmaker.

Federal Judge Timothy Black found Michael Hoyt not guilty of a charge of threatening to kill a U.S. official.

Authorities had accused Hoyt of threatening to kill Boehner, either with a gun or by poisoning his drink.

The judge ruled that Hoyt was insane at the time of the alleged offense and ordered him to a federal medical facility for evaluation.

The "psychotic episode" (i had myself in '11 which can be cause by severe stress) happened around the same time several co-workers jumped him for "unknown" reasons. Trust me one which is a broad diagnosis for a variety of symptoms but it doesn't make a person a permanent nut.

Hoyt had been treated for a psychotic episode about two years ago, the complaint reads, when he was “under significant distress.” He also told later investigators that despite the presence of the handgun in his home, he had no intention of hurting anyone, including himself.

In any case, here was his response to the reason he was fired. My biggest problem is why the FBI version of what he tells him is so completely different than what he says on his blog (the lack of a death threat for one) and the FBI complaint does not he has had close conversations with Dr. Bob and everybody else. (I'm just trying to put myself in his shoes). What was the environment for him as I suspect psychological manipulation likely considering this was a Boehner hang out area which can lead to someone feeling confused, anxious, & frustrated. I would be interested to a Hoyt response to the FBI criminal complaint.

This is the FBI criminal complaint

He was having issues at work and jumped by several individuals for unknown reasons which police transported him to the hospital where he was diagnosed with that which is temporary and goes away. If it is permanent than it is schizophrenia. It could be possible the FBI gave him the 'third degree' for his confession, I'd just like to see his response is all.
