Exclusive: Trump threatens third-party run

Source: The Hill

NEW YORK — Donald Trump says the chances that he will launch a third-party White House run will “absolutely” increase if the Republican National Committee is unfair to him during the 2016 primary season.

“The RNC has not been supportive. They were always supportive when I was a contributor. I was their fair-haired boy,” the business mogul told The Hill in a 40-minute interview from his Manhattan office at Trump Tower on Wednesday. “The RNC has been, I think, very foolish.”

Pressed on whether he would run as a third-party candidate if he fails to clinch the GOP nomination, Trump said that “so many people want me to, if I don’t win.”

“I’ll have to see how I’m being treated by the Republicans,” Trump said. “Absolutely, if they’re not fair, that would be a factor.”

First I want to see his performance in the Republican debates, THEN he can run as a third-party candidate.

This is going to require a lot of popcorn.

But enough of them in key states the Rs had previously won that Bush lost the electoral votes in those states and thus the election.

Trump is extorting the gop ... he is just waiting for them to approach him with an offer to get out of the race. I suspect his menu reads:

Tone Down the Rhetoric ................................................ $10,000,000

Exit the race (before the first primary) ..............................$50,000,000

Exit the race (before the Super Tuesday) ...........................$100,000,000

Exit the race (and NOT run a 3rd party run) .......................$250,000,000

Exit the race (with an endorsement of gop Nominee) ............Market Price

(Each of the listed rates do not preclude book rights, should the patron wish to add this item, please add a $10,000,000 add-on fee)

But as with all got extortionists, if the gop approaches him, he'll set the hook deeper, by threatening to go public with the offer ... and the rates will increase by a factor of 10, across the board.

I'm sure a billionaire at the hub of NY political circles knows
a lot of information about many people

He sure is inconsistent with the fundamentalist wing of the party

He's more NY Tea Party businessman

He's certainly portraying the party as full of incompetents

In 1912, Theodore Roosevelt was disappointed by the William Taft presidency, and so went for the Republican presidential nomination. The party establishment never liked TR, so they blocked him and nominated Taft for re-election. So Roosevelt ran as a third party candidate. What he managed to do was split the Republican vote, and thus the Democrat Woodrow Wilson was elected.

As an independent candidate, Trump would almost certainly draw off enough of the Republican nut-case vote to ensure the election of whoever the Democrats pick.

His money can't change the time restraints on filing. Unless he runs as a write-in. Never heard of anyone winning the residency that way. You are knowledgable about elections, so what do you think?

TIA.
