PHILADLEPHIA (WPVI) -- The FBI and ATF has sent out a warning of a threat of violence against "a university near Philadelphia" for Monday, according to Temple University.

In a tweet Sunday afternoon, Temple University alerted their community to check their emails for an important public safety message from Temple police.

And that number doesn't include all the schools just outside the city (part of the metro area) within the 4 rim PA counties or the rim counties in Jersey just across the river (total about 25 more 4-year+ schools).

I would be a nervous wreck. My colleagues and I discussed the Oregon shooting and wondered what we'd do in that situation.
It sickens me that I have to think about that.

My entire family will be on campus at various times tomorrow. It makes me uneasy, but no more than I felt when notified through the alert system of the home invasion (3 armed males) at a house that bordered campus last week - less than 5 min from where we live.

UD sent out alerts to the campus community. I'm glad they did since I really don't pay any attention to tv news. Son, who is a high schooler, just received a text from school notifying him of the threat.

In my school days we had bomb threats, then copycat after copycat. Shame on those who called them in and on those who threaten violence now. And of course shame on those who do violence.
