Feds Arrest Fox News Commentator, Allege He Lied About CIA Past

Source: huffingtonpost

WASHINGTON -- A Fox News commentator who has been lying for years about working for the Central Intelligence Agency was arrested on Thursday and is being charged in connection with falsely claiming he worked as an “Outside Paramilitary Special Operations Officer” for the CIA for nearly three decades.

Wayne Simmons, a 62-year-old who lives in Annapolis, Maryland, was arrested by federal authorities following his indictment by a federal grand jury for allegedly committing major fraud, wire fraud, and making false statements to the government. Simmons claims to have worked for the CIA from 1973 to 2000, and "used that false claim in an attempt to obtain government security clearances and work as a defense contractor, including at one point successfully getting deployed overseas as an intelligence advisor to senior military personnel," according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia.

He is a member of the "Citizens Commission on Benghazi," a panel created by the conservative media organization Accuracy in Media that has trafficked in in conspiracy theories about the 2012 attack on a U.S. compound in Libya, in which several officials were killed.

ROGER ARONOFF: Next is Wayne Simmons, former CIA officer. Wayne Simmons acquired extensive government experience which was gathered during 27 years in the intelligence business with the CIA. Recruited by the CIA in 1973 while in the U.S. Navy, Simmons became part of an outside paramilitary special operations group where, in addition to working against narcoterrorists, he ran special operations against armed smugglers, counterfeiters, cyber-terrorists, and industrial and economic espionage. Simmons sits on the advisory council for the Intelligence Summit. He’s a contributor to the conservative publication Human Events, and has been a terrorism analyst for the Fox News Channel since 2002. Wayne Simmons.
...
I would leave with you this. I spent 27 plus years running nothing and doing nothing but special operations. I know what they look like. I know how they end. I see all of the blueprints of operations all around the world. I can smell one. I can see it before it happens. It’s like the guys that they hire in the casinos to look for the cheaters. Those guys are cheaters themselves. So they can spot the mark. They can spot the hit before it happens.

Well, I’m that guy who spent all those years understanding what operations are, and I would tell you, I am not a black helicopter guy. Those that know me know that that is, I am not. I’m here today because I dealt in reality, and in fact, and a whole lot of luck.

This Benghazi assault, this attack, has all–and I mean all–of the earmarks of what we call a “con-op,” a concept of operation. This did not happen by accident. This did not happen because some guy ran the video. You all have heard that and I think most in here would believe that. We don’t know who planned it. We don’t know who drew it out–yet. We believe, we all have ideas of who–

that fix noise has no vetting process or any credibility------------------------none

And then they put this propagandists on the air to spew propaganda.

Reminds me of O'Reilly being in El Salvador, Falklands, for example

My question is who in the government system gave him the clearance to go overseas and who was the senior adviser, did he or she not properly investigate this individual------------this is scary, who else.

I mean when I went to work for some companies, it took over month to get vetted and I had to get fingerprinted, does not your social security number say anything, that's how they check through national data base, I mean really

Then again this is fix noise-----------not a surprise

A convicted violent felon applied for security clearances
by claiming to be a former CIA officer and he got hired
as a military advisor?

And it took him this long to get caught. I'm impressed
he took this con as far as he did. The Fox Noise and
Benghazi angles are a nice touch.

Getting a DoD clearance, for instance, has little to no bearing on getting a clearance through another department.
