Casino workers union rejects latest contract proposal, negotiations set to resume on Sunday

DETROIT (WXYZ) - The union representing Detroit's casino workers has rejected the latest contract offer from the casinos.

The union has also presented MGM Grand, Greektown and MotorCity with a counter proposal that the casinos are currently examining.

According to a statement posted on the casino union's website, the talks are currently focused on health benefit costs in connection with the current health plans and wages.

The casinos are set to respond to the union's proposal when negotiations resume Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

Good for them, I hope they're not giving up. There is no reason for casinos to pay their employees peanuts, with no or little benefits.
