Michigan Assembly workers vote yes on Ford-UAW contract

Alisa Priddle,
Ford workers at the Michigan Assembly Plant have voted 81% in favor of their new proposed national contract which may be a bellwether of results still to come.
Breaking it down, production workers were 81% in favor and 83% of skilled trades workers voted yes.
The results are in contrast to 2011 when Michigan Assembly voted against the agreement and it was seen as troubling sign that the contract could be in trouble.
Heading into the 2015 talks, there were concerns that Ford workers had the highest expectations and could be hardest to please with a new contract.
