Dix-huit migrants africains sont morts en Algérie dans un incendie qui s'est déclaré la nuit dernière dans leur camp, a indiqué aujourd'hui la Protection civile.

L'incendie, qui s'est déclaré dans le camp abritant les migrants à Ouargla (800 km au sud-est d'Alger), a également fait 43 blessés. On ignore encore l'origine de l'incendie et les nationalités des victimes.

Algiers (AFP) - A fire sparked by an electrical fault killed 18 African migrants and injured 43 others Tuesday at a camp in Algeria, emergency services and the Red Crescent said.

The blaze began before dawn at the camp housing about 600 migrants in Ouargla, 800 kilometres (500 miles) southeast of Algiers.
