Obama, Russia's Putin Discuss Crises In Syria, Ukraine
Source: Associated Press
WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin have spoken about the situations in Ukraine and Syria.
The two leaders spoke by phone on Wednesday. The White House says they spent a large portion of the conversation discussing the need for Russia to live up to its commitments under a ceasefire agreement for Ukraine and to end its support for pro-Russian separatists destabilizing eastern Ukraine.
White House spokesman Josh Earnest says they also discussed efforts to secure a political transition in Syria. He's noting that the U.S. has previously complimented Russia for playing a constructive role in diplomatic talks. The U.S. has long been pressing Russia to end its support for Syrian President Bashar Assad.

(1,145 posts)for a Ukrainian government that is waging all-out war against its own people? We've attacked foreign leaders who've "killed their own people" for a lot less than what the pro-US regime has been doing to the people in east Ukraine, yet we've been openly encouraging them to do so against ethnic Russians. Ahem, speaking of Syria...
...how 'bout we stop insisting Assad step down and stop supporting religious mercenaries who are killing thousands and destabilizing the entire region? We don't even need to talk to Putin to do these things.
The US State Department has been one the biggest advocates for mayhem and military adventurism recently and its time that they were called on it.
