Cruz stands by 'New York values' criticism
Source: CNN
Ted Cruz says he isn't intimidated by recent polls showing him badly trailing Donald Trump in New York's critical primary contest later this month -- and he's standing by his criticism of "New York values."
"Everyone in New York and outside of New York knows exactly what I meant by that. And it is the liberal values of Democratic politicians who have been hammering the people of New York for decades," the Texas senator told CNN's Dana Bash in an interview that aired Thursday on "Erin Burnett OutFront."
Cruz also told Bash he "laughed out loud" when the New York Daily News blasted him on its front page earlier in the day, telling him to take the "F U" train.
"I laughed out loud," Cruz said. "Look, I have never been popular with left-wing journalists or tabloids, and frankly that's not my target audience."

I guess if you are a New Yorker and you disagree with Cruz's "New York Values" put down. then the problem is that you are just left wing liberal.

(4,573 posts)Came to this thread to post just that. Any time an evangelical like Ted Cruz talks about New York Values, he's talking about that. He can say it's "liberal" values all he wants, but even a guy lurking in Minnesota (me) knows what he's talking about.

(28,267 posts)It's been in my head, ever since Cruz turned up in NY, blowing his anti-Semitic dog whistles at full blast. Any claim Cruz has to real intelligence is in the toilet, fixing to be flushed.

(5,141 posts)Ted Cruz arrived at a matzoh bakery in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn on Thursday afternoon where he was met with cheers of Jews for Cruz. There he rolled out some unleavened bread dough with kids from the Hasidic Jewish community and, as if that werent enough, joined in a rendition of the Passover song Dayenu.
Ted Cruz was offered a matzo-making hat, which he declined. This is the second silly hat Cruz has refused to wear this week. Cruz did, however, wear a yarmulke (pictured above), a much more subtle head topping.

Asked for his comment on 9/11, he said words to the effect that he never liked NY, but you have to feel sorry for what happened.
Peripherally: When the previous "vp" was asked to comment on the day that the 4,000th U.S. soldier had died in Iraq/Afghanistan, he looked at Martha Raddatz and asked "So?"
Even under dire circumstances as these, these patriots have to tell us how they really feel.
