Protesters Force Donald Trump to Abandon Motorcade, Walk to Hotel

Source: Mediaite

After a large group of protesters demonstrated outside of a planned Donald Trump event in Burlingame, California, Trump was forced to abandon his limo and proceed to the back door on foot.

Trump’s motorcade was on the highway parallel to the hotel, when it suddenly did a U-turn into a pull-off. Trump and his fleet of Secret Service, private security, and advisors then got out of their cars and starting walking.

The men proceeded to walk alongside the median for half a minute, before cutting across to a different road. Finally, Trump walked past a dumpster to the back of the Hyatt where he was slated to give a lunchtime speech.

keep this up. Americans don't want to be governed by mob rule. Protesting is fine but disrupting or preventing your political opponents from campaigning is more reminiscent of late 1920s Germany. Using these brownshirt tactics is going to backfire. Americans will not put up with it or a political party that condones it. Especially if violence is used.

We are not 1920s Germany. We are better than that.

There's no way we can lose unless we convince America that we are nothing but a bunch of jack booted thugs. Not a good start and these tactics need to end.

These protesters are going to sink Trump. Today they nearly denied him a chance to speak at the CA GOP convention, he was barely able to enter the venue. Hopefully next time, as brave protesters did earlier in Chicago he will be turned away.
The American people will not stand for riots every time Trump shows up to speak. Trump is seen as the one out of control, not the kids protesting. The protesters are merely confirming the general public's perception of Trump as an out of control bully. I hope we see crowds even bigger protesting his next neo-fascist lilly white rally. When I see these protesters I see proud people of all skin tones but more brown than white. These are the New Americans, 21st century citizens who are proud of their heritage, hence the Mexican flags. We need to support these young patriots as they are the future of the Democratic Party. These people are going to beat Trump in the streets months before the first vote is cast. Just wait for Cleveland it's going to be one hell of a show that will most likely eclipse Seattle 1999 and Chicago 1968 and ruin Trumps chance of being elected President. The American people aren't going to vote for 4 years of riots.

said they were not disrupting an abortion. They were disrupting the message. Makes no sense.

Of course they were disrupting the political process. Protests and counter rallies are fine. But disrupting or preventing your political opponent from campaigning is fascist behavior. It is exactly the tactic used by the brownshirts to bring Hitler to power and unfortunately was also used by us in the '60s to keep blacks from marching for their rights.

I support Trump's right to campaign because that exact same right allowed MLK the right to march.

I support Trump's right to give a speech because that exact same right allowed MLK to give the "I Have a Dream" speech.

Those Democrats of the day who used attack dogs and fire hoses to prevent MLK from marching and speaking were wrong. And those Democrats today who use tactics to prevent even someone as despicable as Trump from campaigning or speaking are just as wrong.

Trump is such a horrible candidate. Why would we want to blow an easy election by acting like a bunch of fascist children?

We cannot regress to the tactics of the '60s or those of the brownshirts of the '20s.

Are you seriously comparing these *protestors* to brownshirts? I think you have your history all mixed up.

Whether or not one agrees with the tactics of the protestors, comparing *them* with brownshirts in the context of protesting Donald Trump is honestly hilarious. They are the powerless, fighting against a possible 1920s Germany-ish billionaire candidate by organizing which is the only way working class people can possibly fight the ruling class - organize and agitate. Yeah, that's some hyperbole but you took us into the realm of hyperbole so I ran with it....

opponents political rallies with their brownshirts. It was despicable politics at its worst. And now you're seeing it again and we are the ones doing it.

Democrats have not acted this way to physically block our opposition from their freedoms since the days of Bull Conner. Then we used attack dogs and fire hoses to prevent citizens from exercising their rights. Please don't tell me we are going down that dark road again.

We can easily win this election on the issues without resorting to fascist brownshirt tactics. My God, it's Donald Trump we are facing. Don't blow it by going fascist.

If you have a lot of people who are NOT violent, and you want to pretend they are violent, you send in violent people pretending to represent them, and insist to the public it's the non-violent ones who are actually violent, and there's your proof.

It's been done to death.

DU'ers had a good laugh about it years ago when photographers discovered some Canadian cops, dressed as protesters, only with masks, etc. were found wearing police shoes when they were pretending to be fighting the cops at a union strike, throwing rocks, etc.

They also saw the fake protesters getting into police vehicles some distance from the activity.

It has happened over and over and over and over.

Who hasn't heard of infiltrators hiding among various political groups forever, spying on them, learning their plans, and working against them? Good grief.
