Huntsman: Time for GOP to rally around Trump

Source: The Hill

Jon Huntsman, the former Republican governor of Utah who served in the Obama administration, thinks the GOP should stop fighting Donald Trump.

“We've had enough intraparty fighting. Now's the time to stitch together a winning coalition,” Huntsman said, according to Politico.

“And it's been clear almost from the beginning that Donald Trump has the ability to assemble a nontraditional bloc of supporters,” he added.

“The ability to cut across traditional party boundaries — like '80, '92 and 2008 — will be key, and Trump is much better positioned to achieve that.”

So much for the supposed rational, reasonable wing of the party.
He's all in for Der Trumpenfuhrer and his Alex Joneser, tinfoil hat, KKK, birther legions.

5. I never bought the BS line that Huntsman was some different kind of Republican.

I've said it for years now. He has this phony facade of being a moderate, reasonable Republican. He'll spout lines about global warming and sound sane in a sea of insanity but it's all for show. He's a right-wing hack who's working on Mike Lee's campaign. He's a fraud.

His father, though, is the real deal. His father doesn't give af.

it'll be him or someone like him; mild, quiet, someone to make Drumpf look a little more sane. Maybe Carson. I just can't see Christie. They're the same person for the most part. This just gets scarier and scarier.

16. Or maybe it's time for anyone with sense to ditch the GOP

If anyone with sense still calls that party home. I'd have more hope if some of these "moderate" republicans would realize what we've known for years; their party is a sick, racist, sexist, poor-hating, bought-and-paid-for, warmongering cesspool. I thought Huntsman was one of the last sensible members of an increasingly pathetic party and that he might actually leave given how bad it is. Alas, I was wrong. He may be more sensible than most of the others but that's not exactly a high bar to clear.
