Say what? State lawmaker tries to add age, weight limits for strippers in Louisiana

Source: WGNO.com

BATON ROUGE, La. (WGNO) – A state representative proposed – then pulled – a measure in the state House today that would have required strippers in Louisiana to be no older than 28 and weigh no more than 160 pounds.

Associated Press Capitol reporter Melinda Deslatte reported via Twitter that the House was discussing a bill to raise the age minimum for strippers to 21.

During the discussion, state Rep. Kenneth Havard, R-Jackson, proposed an amendment to the bill that would make it against the law for strippers to be older than 28 and weigh no more than 160 pounds.

According to Deslatte, state Rep. Julie Stokes, a Kenner Republican, was outraged by the amendment, telling her colleagues that she’s “never been more repulsed to be a part” of the Legislature.

"joke amendment" but not funny given his very own looks.

These people and their antics are part of the very reason my state is a total disaster.....along with Piyush Jindal.

Many are very educationally and otherwise intelligent, but what I believe is needed is true public servants.....Those who are really there to do the work of the people they work for.

Stepford utopian society for men where women over 28 will either be working in factories or behind the scenes (out of view) or shipped off to the fertilizer factory so that resources won't be wasted on them anymore. Just think--no more divorce! Can start over with an 18 year-old after sending off the 28 year-old, or can get rid of any woman in between if they gain a pound more than the limit!

This petition would limit patrons to be no older than 39, must have weight in proportion to height and be physically fit, and each must show a tax return to the bouncer at the door and carry a minimum of $500 in cash to be allowed in.

I don't think he thought this through well enough. The strippers should also be forced by law to snuggle a bible between their breasts and preach the word of the lord when they lap dance. This guys a real idiot. Gee, what a surprise from a Republican.

I think the year was 1986, I was 39 years old and the crowd loved my act. Now if I was at Marti Gras and some hunky guy, say 190 pounds of muscle, was stripping I sure would not care if he was 30 pounds over weight.
