Now Playing Clinton: Trump is not qualified to be president
Story highlights
Hillary Clinton spoke with CNN Thursday for an exclusive interview in Chicago
She said Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump was not qualified to be president
(CNN)Hillary Clinton labeled her Republican rival Donald Trump "divisive and dangerous" and "unmoored" on Thursday, saying his recent behavior shows he's not qualified to be president.
The Democratic presidential front-runner unleashed her sharpest attacks yet on Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, in an exclusive interview with CNN's Chris Cuomo in Park Ridge, Illinois.
She pointed to Trump's attacks on British politicians, his willingness to speak with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, his call for the United States to back away from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and his assertion that more countries should have nuclear weapons, and said it "adds up to a very troubling picture."
........................
She was particularly critical of Trump's proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States, calling the idea "provocative" and saying it sends a "message of disrespect" to important majority-Muslim nations that are U.S. allies.
"When you run for president of the United States, the entire world is listening and watching," she said. "So when you say you're going to bar all Muslims, you're sending evidence to the Muslim world, and you're also sending a message to terrorists. ... Donald Trump is essentially being used as a recruiter for more people to join the cause of terrorism.".............

(3,133 posts)I no longer think she is as smart as they said in the past.
Too many years working in a manner of corruption, she has not evolved from that young smart lady. The money ruined her. She's also in lots of trouble. Next week, you'll be really sick.

(14,340 posts)He raised questions about her qualifications, as her team did about him. Here's the quote:
"When you voted for the war in Iraq, the most disastrous foreign policy blunder in the history of America, you might want to question your qualifications. When you voted for trade agreements that cost millions of Americans decent paying jobs, and the American people might want to wonder about your qualifications. When you're spending an enormous amount of time raising money for your super PAC from some of the wealthiest people in this country, and from some of the most outrageous special interests ... Are you qualified to be president of the United States when you're raising millions of dollars from Wall Street whose greed and recklessness helped destroy our economy?"
You will note he never said, "No!"

(34,661 posts)lack of qualification, but, the reality is,with all the Media owned or controlled by Trumps friends or persons in his Cocktail Circuit, the story you are seeing or reading is,the Guy is the greatest thing since sliced bread. If you want to put the end to Trump, stop the pussy footing and say it like it is,a vote for Trump is a vote for a Fascist USA.

(34,661 posts)three plus years, and Bernie Sanders has been her number one Change Agent. All the Power Brokers lined up behind her in 2013 and that picture was showing a Third Way Tilt big time. When Bernie came on the scene, there was a choice which has forced these Power Brokers to ditch some if not all of these Third Way ideas. They sure as hell did not go away, but,Clinton being the smartest of the smart shifted her message. This Campaign is a long way from over,we have the Corporate Media and their whores the Republican Party, and they are about to ramp up their major negative campaign against Clinton and they will do a wrap around to drag Sanders into this negativity. Reason this is going to happen is,this week Koch Brothers and Adelson bought Radio time and lots of it,in certain battle ground states. We are getting slammed here in Nevada and that is this is Reids backyard and he has hammer the Koch's big time.

(150 posts)Donald Trump took advantage of program designed to help small businesses after 9/11 one of many times hes used public funds for private gain
Donald Trump made a pretty penny off a program to help small businesses hurt by 9/11, one of many times where The Donald took advantage of government programs to save or make money off the taxpayer.
The self-proclaimed billionaire, who has so far refused to release his tax returns, was one of many wealthy individuals and businesses who used a loophole in a program intended to help smaller companies in lower Manhattan recover after the Sept. 11 tragedy.
Trump got $150,000 for his swanky property at 40 Wall Street because the Empire State Development Corporation, run by the state, didn't enforce federal guidelines on what defines a small business. Instead, the state used much looser rules that let The Donald and others including Morgan Stanley and Bank of China take money that was earmarked by Congress to help small business owners in the neighborhood recover after the tragic attacks, a 2006 Daily News expose found.
Locals say Trump, who used the bravery of 9/11 responders to counter-punch when Ted Cruz maligned his "New York values" during the Republican primary, didn't live up to the term.
"A billionaire taking money meant for struggling small businesses after September 11th is not 'New York values,'" said Catherine McVay Hughes, a longtime community organizer in Lower Manhattan who worked with grassroots groups to help rebuild the neighborhood and currently chairs Community Board 1.
Many small businesses were destroyed in the towers themselves, and others in the neighborhood went under because of the exodus of locals, loss of patrons who used to work in other shuttered shops and a decrease in foot traffic in the area. The funds were aimed at helping the mom and pop shops make it through an incredibly difficult stretch.
"It's really indefensible that this money went to big guys like Trump," said Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-Manhattan), who helped secure the funds from Congress for the program and earlier in his career fought Trump over funding for a pair of construction projects on the Upper West Side.
"It's unfortunate because it meant a lot of the small businesses didn't get that money," Nadler continued.

The lesser evil... Hillary Clinton. On to choosing the best of two terrible people!

(4,676 posts)voting for Bernie in the CA primary.
That said, I am ready to circle the wagons to make sure Trump doesn't get elected. If I were in a swing state, I'd wear my nose-clip as I bused otherwise-disenfranchised people to vote on election day. And before, I'd be helping them get ID cards.
The prospect of Trump is too desperately frightening, and would make me almost nostalgic by comparison for Buuu ... Buuus... no, I can't say it, but it's still true.
