First Oregon standoff defendant pleads guilty to federal conspiracy charge

Source: The Oregonian

Corey Lequieu pleaded guilty Thursday to conspiracy to impede federal officers at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, becoming the first of 26 defendants indicted on the charge to admit using threats, intimidation or force to take over the federal bird sanctuary and keep federal workers out.

Federal prosecutors will recommend that Lequeiu spend two-and-a-half years in prison.

As part of the plea deal, the government agreed not to level other federal charges against Lequieu, including felon in possession of a firearm in either Oregon or Nevada, or any potential federal charges stemming from his purported ties to the 2014 Cliven Bundy standoff near Bunkerville.

Lequieu, 46, must pay restitution to the government, an amount yet to be determined, and waived any right to an appeal. He will remain in custody pending his Aug. 25 sentencing.

they should have and he should have had all of the charges enforced against him along with the others has they come down the system this is nonnegotiable.
I want them locked up for a very long time, I want them to be an example of what breaking federal law and state laws means, they cost this country and the state millions
They destroyed federal land and state property------------------they were threatening an entire town, they were f****king armed, and they were intent on hurting people

I agree these people should be punished big time, but the ring leaders are the most important targets.

Trials are expensive. Two and a half years sounds right.

Now he can be a martyr for 2 yrs and then I am sure they will give him a book deal (comic) and his Damm guns back!
Meanwhile Leonard Peltier still sits in prison for a crime he didn't commit. American Justice your hypocrisy is showing! !
