U.S. Intelligence Officials Don’t Trust Trump With Classified Briefing

Source: Mediaite

U.S. intelligence officials are preparing to deliver classified briefings to both major party presidential candidates, despite top spies’ distrust of Donald Trump, according to a report in The Washington Post.

One senior intelligence official told the Post‘s Greg Miller that he would refuse to brief Trump. “He’s been so uninterested in the truth and so reckless with it when he sees it,” he said.

<...>

The report comes days after Trump publicly encouraged the Kremlin to release hacked State Department emails. (The reality TV star later said he was being “sarcastic.”)

Intelligence officials were wary of sharing information with Trump even before he made those comments. In June, eight senior security officials told Reuters they were uneasy with delivering briefings to Trump, worried that his habit of making impulsive and erratic statements about foreign policy could imperil national security.

she still wouldn't have willingly shared classified information with other countries, or started a nuclear meltdown. With Trump, the intelligence agents may as well just send all their briefings directly to Russia to save a couple minutes time.

It's all because of Hillary's negative numbers. I was a Bernie backer but I'm amazed at how the MSM has been able to paint her as negative as they have, or at least never corrected the BS against her. The hatred against her is dumbfounding.

at the supermarket, you'll see how anti-Clinton and pro-Drumpf they are.
"She's crazy, she calls her staff at 3 am and screams at them, she's having a nervous breakdown, Bill's cheating on her again, blah, blah..." And Drumpf is always "gaining ground".

but Trump and his entire family are under Secret Service protection. An assignment I can only imagine they detest. It will be interesting to see what is revealed after he loses the election and their protection. They pretty much know everything.

I seem to recall a Secret Service guy who served in the Clinton White House and wrote a book about it after Bill was out of office. From what I remember, he had nothing good to say about Hillary. Then again, if the RNC waved a stack of bills under the guy's nose after he retired, who knows what he'd be willing to write.

Point is, take what people say with a grain of salt, especially if they're being paid to "reveal" stuff. That being said, if someone on Trump's detail revealed that he can't achieve orgasm without a picture of Putin in the room, it wouldn't shock me.

I never read the book, just heard about it. Most of the folks on the right are ready to believe any horrible story about the Clintons, no matter how outlandish it is, because it confirms their biases and justifies their rabid hatred of the entire family.

although I'm not sure exactly when it started. I'm going to guess perhaps the past thirty years or so. I'm not entirely sure the rationale behind it, probably so that whoever gets elected already has some clue about what's going on.

Perhaps the security briefings for the candidates should be reconsidered. Hillary would already know all sorts of this stuff, even though she hasn't been Secretary of State for four years.

Harry Truman gave classified briefings to the candidates in the 1952 election. As Vice-President, Truman had no idea that the United States was developing the atom bomb until after FDR died. He didn't want future presidents to step into the role completely unprepared like was. Every president since has extended that same courtesy.

It's their job. If they don't like it, they can't find new jobs.

If Obama rescinds the 64-year-old practice, that's a different story. But what some are calling for will just sound like the President, who keeps saying he represents all the people, playing politics with his executive authority. I'd hope he'd be above that. Some would love it. Some would call it corruption.

From what I understand he's banned? from most all American banks and has placed a lot of accounts/businesses in his kids names?
