Trump campaign will meet with presidential debate commission over schedule

Source: The Hill

Donald Trump's campaign chief said on Sunday that the campaign plans to meet with the Commission on Presidential Debates to sort out issues with the debate schedule.

Trump has voiced concern that two of the presidential debates collide with NFL games even though the schedule has been set since September.

"We're just saying our position is we want the maximum audience participation," Paul Manafort said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

RNC chairman: We'll support Trump on debate schedule protest

Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus said he will stand by Donald Trump in his protest of the presidential debate schedule. "We're not going to agree with anything our nominee doesn't agree with," Priebus said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

"We're not going to be having debates on Saturday and Sunday night."

Trump, the GOP's presidential nominee, has expressed concerns that two of the debate dates collide with NFL games. The schedule, in place since last September, was set by a bipartisan presidential debate commission. "Certainly, the RNC is going to be involved in supporting our nominee and his position on this," Priebus said, suggesting the debates take place on a Tuesday, Thursday or Wednesday nights instead.

Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort also said on "Face the Nation" Sunday that the campaign will meet with the commission to discuss alternatives.

And I don't hear much push back from the media. That's worrying. It seems like the media is still on board with the "Hillary controls and rigs everything" story line.

Let me finish that for you😃😃😃😃😃😃. I hope Clinton has someone from her campaign there to speak up and not let him get is way!! He will complain, come up with his alternative, it will be presented to Clinton, she will have issues with it due to scheduling conflicts and then he will blame her for not wanting to debate. I can see it all right now. The committee should not give in to him AT ALL after all it was decided back in Sept

There won't be any questions like "Who do you love more, Ronald Reagan or Jesus?" or "If you had a chance to eradicate one race or religion, which would it be and how much would you enjoy it?"

Trump is going to make excuse after excuse until he just says there will be no debate this election.

He will offer his top ten list of why "It is not fair..."

    10. People will have to go out of their way to see the debate on any day that ends in a 'Y'.
