Clinton's lead over Trump shrinks in swing state polls

Source: USA Today

The race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in some battleground states is tightening, according to a Quinnipiac University Swing State Poll released Thursday.

The polls found that in a one-on-one matchup in Florida, Clinton and Trump are tied with 47% support each among likely voters. When third-party candidates are added into the mix, Clinton and Trump are still tied, this time at 43%. Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson had 8% support and Green Party candidate Jill Stein had 2% backing.

Clinton did have a 4-point lead in North Carolina in a one-on-one match-up, 47%-43%. That lead remained the same when third-party candidates were added, 42%-38%. Johnson had 15% in North Carolina; Stein is not on the ballot in the state.

Ohio voters are also basically evenly divided between Trump and Clinton in a one-on-one matchup, 46%-45%, but when third-party candidates are added, Trump has a 4-point lead 41% to 37%. Johnson had 14% support and Stein came in with 4%.

Quinnipiace is one of the better pollsters, so Lauer's single minded focus on the issues that will make a difference to the lives of most Americans like Hillary Clinton's IT personal practices will make an impact. Racism, tax policy, national security, the minimum wage apparently do not bear mention.

She's got the right message. And we know Drumpf has the wrong message, if he even has a message. Nope, he doesn't have a message, but he has an R by his name so he gets votes.

More work, but we'll get this done for Clinton. 60 days out yet.

NC PA look good OH might be trending slightly to douche , FL tied is probably good news since remember Rmoney led in the polls there till Election Day by 2 pts or so and President O ended up winning by 75000 voters ! I suspect Hillary is ahead there Nate gives Q polls good rating but with a definite R lean ... Anyways Hillarys team has like 48 offices in FL to Trumps 1! GOTV I don't think Trump did himself any favors with cinc forum either

O won PA by 5% in 2012. That translated into a little under 300k vote difference. Trump has to come up with that many extra votes or flip 150k people just to pull even. Out of 67 counties in PA only 7 that have voter registrations over 300k. While not impossible it would seem a heavy lift unless something goes incredibly wrong over the next two months to come up with this many votes.
