Patricia Urbanovsky pleaded guilty to 16 federal counts of wire fraud Friday in U.S. federal court in Omaha as part of a plea agreement with federal prosecutors.
With that agreement, she would spend no more than 72 months or six years in federal prison. As part of the deal, nine federal counts of money laundering were dropped by prosecutors.
U.S. Judge Joseph Bataillon accepted her guilty plea and scheduled a sentencing and restitution hearing for Dec. 19 and 20. The hearing is expected to take up to two days because of the large number of people that lost money in the scheme that prosecutors said bilked people out of money for worthless travel vouchers. Her final sentence will be determined at that hearing.
In the meantime, Urbanovsky will remain on home confinement, her movements tracked by an electronic monitoring device attached to her left ankle.
