Warren: Pence no better than Trump for women
Source: MSN/The Hill
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) turned her focus to Mike Pence as GOP nominee Donald Trump faced fierce backlash over his lewd comments about women.
In a fundraising email to supporters sent Saturday, Warren slammed Pence, according to a report by Politico.
"Some GOP candidates are in panic mode, even announcing that they'll vote instead for Mike Pence - an extremist governor infamous for trying to defund Planned Parenthood and pass some of the most outrageous anti-abortion legislation in the country," Warren wrote.
"Please do what you can to help our Democratic women take back the Senate and stop Donald Trump and Mike Pence."

In terms of policy, between Trump and Pence only one candidate's policy has lead to the prosecution of woman for her efforts to get an abortion, and it is not Trump.

Or as one of the prosecutors in Patels case succinctly put it in a hearing, When she does the act, she is the performer.
Abortion is legal in Indiana. But in 2009, after the shooting of a pregnant bank teller, Indiana legislators decided to stiffen the penalties for causing the death of a gestating fetus. The bills sponsor touted support from both Planned Parenthood and Right to Life. It is that law that Indiana prosecutors now say gives them the right to charge Patel.
Patels attorneys argue in her appeal that the law was intended to punish people who harm pregnant women, not the women themselves; attorneys for Indiana counter that theres nothing in the law to stop them from prosecuting women.

Indiana prosecutors say Patel simply causing the end of her pregnancy amounted to feticide, even if there was no actual fetal demise. As for whether she herself could be put on trial, the legislature has never included an exception in the feticide statute to prevent it from being applied to the pregnant woman herself, the state wrote in its appeal.
