Man identified in Hattiesburg officer-involved shooting

Source: The Hattiesburg Amerrican

3:55 p.m. CST November 26, 2016

The victim in an officer-involved shooting Friday in Hattiesburg has been identified as Jerome Chris Harmon, 23, of Hattiesburg, Forrest County Coroner Butch Benedict said. Harmon died around 9 p.m. Friday at Forrest General Hospital.

Around 1 p.m. Friday, a Hattiesburg police officer spotted someone driving down the road who appeared to be a suspect in a burglary and credit card fraud, Hattiesburg police spokesman Lt. Jon Traxler said.

When the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the suspect failed to respond.

The suspect's vehicle eventually was stopped at Old Airport Road and Att Avenue in the Palmers Crossing area of Hattiesburg, where he fled on foot. The suspect allegedly fired shots at the officer in pursuit, who returned fire, striking the suspect.

6. No, you need them to do things like determine if the evidence supports

the suspect having a gun or not as well as where the police were standing and where the suspect was shot.
For example, was he shot in the back fleeing the police or was he shot from the front.
Assuming one thing without evidence is just a stumble into making more mistakes.

From the article the suspect fired at police officers. You make it sound like you know for a fact that is not true.

The dead "suspect" was doubtless the twin brother of Norwegian mass murderer Anders Brevik. Fine!

However, when the details come out, I'm sure there is a very high chance that he did shoot at a police officer.

come back and bite me on the ass because right now all we know (unless one of us here witnessed the event) is that the police shot someone.

9. Forensically that proves nothing. What is needed will be things like a recovered weapon

if one exists as well as things like bullet trajectory to determine which officer shot him and which way he was facing at the time but feel free to update us with information which is relevant rather than your own opinion.
