Donald Trump Claims "Millions Of People Voted Illegally." (They Didn't.)
Source: Mother Jones
Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally
3:30 PM - 27 Nov 2016
This is terrifying on a number of levels. Not only does it further demonstrate that the soon-to-be leader of the free world has a skin as thin as tissue paper, but it highlights the fact that Trump will as president continue to trade in insane conspiracy theories just as he did as a candidate and as a reality show star before that. There is exactly no evidence that "millions of people voted illegally" in the election. None. Zilch. Zero. But Trump doesn't care.
We're screwed.

A good comment:
Nate Cohn ✔ @Nate_Cohn
Hard to argue against an audit/recount if the president-elect asserts, without any evidence, that were millions of illegal votes

(5,522 posts)Why these 11 states? Why is Hillary's numbers less that Trump's?
Coyotl
(15,262 posts)The data is from Cook, totals for US and 50 states. The difference in popular vote is Hillary's lead today,Nov. 27, projected to be MORE than Trump's total vote in 11 states. These eleven states are the ones with the lowest number of Trump voters. DC has fewer though.
So it proves what it says, The Dem margin will be more than the total number of Trump votes in 11 states combined.

(5,106 posts)Get on Twitter and find ways to refer to Trump as the minority President-Elect, then (ouch) the minority President. In all things, refer to his title with the modifier "minority." He'll be raving and whining in no time flat. Find other ways to make this a mission, just because it will make him crazier.

This is part of the gameplan for "Making America Great Again":
Those millions of people who gave Clinton the popular vote majority? Don't count on them being legal voters in 2020
He and his minions are going to move fast, starting in January. There won't be any congressional turn-around in 2018 to save us either.
Make no mistake. This is the start of the 4th Reich.

(9,888 posts)people have to get through their heads is that Donald Trump is not going to suddenly change. Personality is stable. And I don't mean HE'S stable, I mean people don't flip personalities. He is who he is. He's not going to serious-up and fly right. If it ever looks like he's done that you can assume they've got him locked in a padded room.

Because it is those institutions and supporting norms that present the most significant check on an authoritarian's power.

When confidence in those institutions and norms has been sufficiently eroded, the authoritarian has a freer hand with which to wield power.

Trump Senior Adviser Kellyanne Conway delivered a threat to prosecute Hillary Clinton if she pursues the recount during an interview on CNN's State Of The Union.
Full transcript via CNNs State Of The Union: ....
.......... The president doesnt make decisions on who gets prosecuted and who doesnt. That is not how our system works. Secondly, Donald Trump isnt the president yet, so he has no say on what happens. What comes out of Kellyanne Conways mouth is usually a direct message from Trump Tower.
Conway was issuing a not so thinly veiled threat to Hillary Clinton. If Clintons team continues to assist with the recount, the former Secretary of State may face prosecution. The incoming administration is expressing their willingness to punish anyone who questions or expresses dissent.
If Trump is so confident in the election results, why is he so rattled by this recount? ....
