Source: cnn

CNN)Gunshots erupted at the Fort Lauderdale airport on Friday, leaving multiple people dead.
Authorities say the gunman, who appeared to be acting alone, is in custody.
Here's the latest on what we know:

Better to let the fools and cowards be exposed as fools and cowards to the public, than to let their fellow fools and cowards feast on the fame of an action where there is no long, drawn out picking apart of a pathetic personality and investigation of the weak motivation that attracted some disaffected idiot to go on a rampage to benefit a group of useless wealthy punks who just want to stir shit up.

I cannot tell you how disgusted I am with every single repuke who wants to repeal the ACA. It saved my life. Fri Jan 6, 2017, 04:24 PM
Jan 2017

Two separate shootings about an hour apart, including one that killed five people, forced the closure of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Friday.

The first shooting involved a gunman who opened fire inside a baggage claim area, killing five people and injuring eight more before police arrested him, the Broward Sheriff’s Office reported.

About an hour after that shooting, a second gunman was reported at a different terminal of the airport, causing panic and sending dozens of passengers fleeing across the tarmac as police in armored gear responded with drawn weapons. Police and passengers at the terminal took cover behind parked cars.

BSO and the Transportation Safety Administration the second shooter was at large and urged passengers to shelter in place as a stream of people rushed out of the Arribas area of Terminal 1, some with their hands up.

I heard them (gunshots) in the background, I saw dozens of coppers running into the car park. This was like at least 45 minutes to an hour after Santiago was taken into custody.

They also had multiple people on the scene say there was an active second shooter, a lot of witnesses.

Now, just like almost time in these situations, the 2nd shooter is now denied and the whole thing poofs. It is just so strange. maybe they were not gunshots, I have no clue, but all involved with the local ABC reporting seemed utterly convinced it was still active and there was a second gunman. Now they are acquiescing to what the FBI is saying. They are trying to walk it all back.

Someone who hadn't been aware the gunman was taken and was going around thinking he was going to be a hero and take down the bad guy - inadvertently attracted the attention of the police because he had a weapon on him in a tense situation?

Unless the guy who checked his loaded gun in either Anchorage or Minneapolis had an accomplice, that's the only scenario that I can think of that would fit. Too soon for a copycat.

Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel said the gunman, identified as Esteban Santiago, was possibly a "homegrown violent extremist" who followed terror groups on social media.

Israel said there was no evidence Santiago, 26, was a member of any terror group but detectives and federal authorities are continuing to investigate whether he had any ties.

Israel said the gunman might be a "sympathizer" to terror groups, attempting to "bring attention" to their efforts.

He told ABC News the FBI would be taking over the investiga

While I was at the doctor's office, they had the TV on ABC (not FOX, I was surprised and happy), and I was being checked in and almost broke my neck when I heard the word "Jew". I watched the broadcast and it was a someone interviewing an "eyewitness" who said after shooting, the gunman ran away shouting, "I am not a Jew! I am not a Jew!"

I don't know if the eyewitness heard wrong or what, but it sure as hell got my attention.

There now. Had just walked down the stairs to the baggage claim when pop pop pop went off 50 feet from. Everyone either froze or dropped to the ground. Then mulitple more shots. Everyone just started running. Sounded like one gunman. Didnt get a good view just saw people dropping to the floor.
Edit: 9 wounded 1 dead 1 in custody https://www.google.com/amp/nbc4i.com/2017/01/06/report-of-shots-fired-at-fort-lauderdale-airport/amp/
Edit: food and water being given out by the airport employees
EDIT 2:29pm Shots? On the tarmac. We all started running. Not sure. Still on tarmac.
TSA seems calm now. No idea
Edit. We saw people running from the garage few minutes prior. Cops around them seemed calm so we thought they were just moving people. Heard pop pop pop close to us. Ran.
