Clinton warrior David Brock offers an apology - and his allegiance - to Bernie Sanders
Source: Washington Post
David Brock is sorry. The founder of Media Matters and a pair of pro-Clinton super PACs battled hard really hard against Sen. Bernie Sanders during the Democratic presidential primary. Now he wants to be Sanders's ally.
I'm with you in the fight ahead, Brock wrote Tuesday in an open letter to Sanders (I-Vt.), posted on Medium.

Brock told me that he hopes to win over Sanders by advocating for causes they both care about, such as combating climate change and the influence of big money in politics.
I don't expect anyone to accept one Medium post at face value, especially in a cynical town like Washington, Brock said. I'll earn the trust over time, as we work together to resist the Trump administration and to preserve and protect progressive accomplishments.

(4,450 posts)I got behind HRC for the general, canvassed, donated, etc... but Bernie was right when he called Brock scum of the earth.
...has made a career of multiple episodes of "seeing the light".
He moves to where he sees the power shift moving.
But I'm sure Bernie will know how to handle this framer of Anita Hill. Uggh.

Fuck this guy. We don't need or want him over here in Bernie-land

SecularMotion
(7,981 posts)He started as a right wing operative against the Clintons. He then saw the error of his ways, wrote a book on it titled "Blinded By The Right", then wrote another book that exposed the entire right wing propaganda operation titled "The Republican Noise Machine." He also created Media Matters which has been a valuable source for exposing the lies and half-truths spread by Fox News and the NRA.
The positive work David Brock has done for Democrats and the left far outweighs any damage caused by his work at American Spectator.

(7,981 posts)One of them was a state lawmaker in Washington who found that Hills humiliation was all that women wanted to talk about at an event that evening.
It was so stark, watching these men grill this woman in these big chairs and looking down at her, Democratic Senator Patty Murray told me for my book, Broad Influence: How Women Are Changing the Way America Works. And I just said, I am going run for [U.S.] Senate, she recalled. Because they need somebody there who is going to say what I would say if I was there, which wouldve been to defend Hill and question Thomas instead.

(5,272 posts)campaign, that's a hollow apology. (and maybe he did in those 4 pages, but I kind of doubt it)
I'm all for people "seeing the light," or being capable of evolving, but there are reasons to seriously doubt that evolution.
