After President-elect Donald Trump attacked Georgia congressman and civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) and his district on Twitter Saturday morning, colleagues and admirers of Lewis responded forcefully.

Lewis said Friday that Trump was not a legitimate president, due what he called a Russian conspiracy to sabotage Hillary Clintons presidential campaign. Lewis also said he would not attend Trumps presidential inauguration.

I have issues with ignorant people because it is a choice to be ignorant. They could do better but choose not to.

Put another way, we could manage a good democracy that included stupid people if they weren't magnified by the ignorant. They are the swing voters of public understanding and knowledge and they keep swinging in the wrong direction.

This is why I think right wing media is such a huge problem. There are always going to be a minority of stupid people. RWM is a calculated effort to bolster the stupid minority into a powerful voting block
