Vincent Viola has withdrawn as President Donald Trump's nominee for secretary of the Army, Trump administration sources confirmed to POLITICO.
Viola is the first of Trumps nominees to withdraw from consideration.
Viola, the founder of electronic trading firm Virtu Financial and owner of the Florida Panthers National Hockey League team, withdrew over financial issues in his vetting, according to administration officials.
