Trump labor nominee Puzder withdraws, White House official says, amid concerns over his personal background and business record

Andrew Puzder, a restaurant executive, had been scheduled to appear at a confirmation hearing before the Senate Health, Education Labor and Pensions Committee on Thursday morning. He had come under fire for hiring an undocumented immigrant as a housekeeper and was also opposed strenuously by Democrats and labor unions for his past positions on overtime pay and minimum wage.

Trump Labor Pick Andy Puzder Withdraws Nomination

By ESME CRIBB Published FEBRUARY 15, 2017, 2:35 PM EDT

Andrew Puzder, President Donald Trump’s choice to lead the U.S. Department of Labor and the CEO of CKE Restaurants Inc., withdrew his nomination on Wednesday.

"After careful consideration and discussions with my family, I am withdrawing my nomination for Secretary of Labor," Puzder said in a statement obtained by TPM.

Puzder said that he was "honored to have been considered" for the position.

"While I won't be serving in the administration, I fully support the President and his highly qualified team," he said.

It is not his horrible business practices or wife beating that got him out. It was his like of having immigrants here so he could simply pay them less. As far as his Repuke friends are concerned he would vote for those horrible people to come in. There are already people in who are bad business people and are horrible to women ( one of them the dictator himself ) so what makes one think it is really those reasons.
