POTUS briefed fully on Flynn/Kislyak phone calls

Source: Fox News

I don't have the transcript of this John Roberts Fox News report. But it was his exclusive. His sources told him that Trump was fully briefed about the conversations Flynn had with Russian Ambassador Kislyak. The people who briefed the President would know the content.

Also, Flynn remembered the conversations clearly when questioned by the White House Counsel's Office during their investigation.

Read more:

I did not see the report when it aired because I don't watch The O'Reilly Factor or any Fox broadcast. However, when I scrolled through my Twitter feed this report had been retweeted and discussed quite a bit. Commenters on Twitter seem to think it's mighty important although the question of when Trump was briefed will be key.

One respondent thinks that this may be a sign that Republicans have had enough. One can hope, but Republicans don't bring out the optimist in me. Then again, the fact Fox reported this is stunning.

I apologize if this has been written up on DU already.

What difference does it make if he knew it after the fact?

Or am I missing the point here?

Pence is making his move to become Trump's Gerald Ford. He is distancing himself, perhaps with some truth, I don't know. He is saying he was out of the loop, not informed. This of course also has echos with GHW Bush who said he was "out of the loop" in Iran-Contra in Reagan's White House despite having been CIA director and heavily into international affairs.

At the very least, tRump knew the full details for at least 17 days during which

1) tRump did not inform Pence that he had been lied to.

2) tRump did not fire Flynn for lying to Pence in December, the offense tRump says he finally did fire him for.

The "Flynn lied to Pence" excuse is probably a coverup for deeper transgressions, which is why tRump covered up Flynn for at least 17 days until the media made an issue of it.

and when did he know? The cover up is just as bad as the crime. Flynn lies to FBI, Dump lies to Pence, though I seriously doubt that, and BLOTUS is lying to us.

Sounds like a call for an indeprendent investigation to me.

This does not follow national security protocol. When someone is under suspicion for talking to foreign powers, his security clearances should be suspended upon review. That was not done. Who knows what Flynn passed on to Russian spies in the meantime.

I've been hearing/seeing people do this all the time lately, and it's been been driving me insane.

My entire life, 'anymore' meant 'any longer' ... not 'nowadays'.

Thus, it was *always* used in the 'negative' sense ... like, "We don't go to Ravenholm anymore'.

Never like "Life is so confusing anymore" ... when did this change occur?

Guess I just can't keep up anymore ...

It might be a regional thing... just like none of my friends, family, schoolmates, or teachers ever used "on" in this manner - "Such and such happened on yesterday" or "Such and such is scheduled on tomorrow". The use of "on" was only used for the day of the week noun like "on Wednesday"...etc.

The republicans are finally ready to move Trump out and Pence in. Trumps numbers are getting low enough. Trump just had that crazy press conference. They're preparing.

Whoever the faction is that planned to get rid of Trump as soon as they could and get Pence in that's who is feeding fox. That's why "you'll only get this here from me" because the thugs are only tight with fox... every other news agency holds them at arms length.

We need to stop chanting down with Trump and start chanting what did Pence know?

He needs to be pushed out of the whitehouse or we might as well keep Tweety.

Trump at least tells us every stupid thing he does.

Pence will do the same crap but tell us nothing.

With pence we will at least have a tomorrow to fight. Who knows with the orange menace. Pence will get rid of bannon.. so vital.

Pence as so many have said has the personality of 5day old oatmeal, he won't draw any interest for the wwc. Even the repubs in Indiana are busy undoing his shit.. he's hated there. Come 2018 the trumpsters will once again vote revenge which should work for us....same with 2020.
