hite House chief of staff Reince Priebus said President Donald Trump's comments on the press being "the enemy" should be taken "seriously," while criticizing journalists' use of unnamed sources.

In an interview on CBS's "Face the Nation" to be broadcast Sunday, host John Dickerson asked Priebus whether the American people should take Trump seriously after he tweeted that the press "is the enemy of the American people" on Friday.

"I think you should take it seriously. I think that the problem we've got is that we're talking about bogus stories like the one in the New York Times, that we've had constant contact with Russian officials. The next day, the Wall Street Journal had a story that the intel community was not giving the president a full intelligence briefing," Priebus said. "Both stories grossly inaccurate, overstated, overblown, and it's total garbage."

If the news is bogus, then let Trump explain why he's said he had a close and personal relationship with Putin before the election and didn't know him after the election. It can't be both ways. He didn't approve or support the Nazi agenda, actually smuggled documents when he traveled to help thwart the Nazi's. But that was in another time. So was Woodward and Bernstein.

There's a reason there are unnamed sources.

In fact, there's more reason for them NOW then ever before. If the sources were named they'd be kicked out of their jobs and possibly murdered by either trump or his followers.

"Unnamed" is to protect people. And from my complete lack of knowledge of journalism I'm pretty sure just because it says unnamed doesn't mean the source doesn't have a name. The journalist and possibly the editor as well keep the names of these unnamed sources so that if they ever get brought to court and forced to say who said what (usually doesn't happen) they can.

The only people making up fake news with fake "unnamed sources" is faux news, right wing bullshit news and russian fake news.
