More controversy for Milo Yiannopoulos in the wake of Friday’s appearance on Bill Maher’s HBO show, in which he spread lies about transgender Americans and maligned both gays and women. On Saturday, the out senior editor at Breitbart was announced as the keynote speaker at the annual conference held by the American Conservative Union — a decision roundly criticized by hardline conservatives and apparently made without the approval of the ACU board.

But the bigger bombshell dropped on Sunday, when videos emerged in which Yiannopoulos can be seen and heard defending and attempting to normalize pedophilia. The so-called provocateur expressed outrage on Facebook, calling the videos “deceptively edited.” But as The Blaze reported, what seemed to bother him more is that they were unleashed by Republicans.

Another newly unearthed video appears to be a raw, unedited recording of a radio interview with comedian Joe Rogan, Yiannopoulos was adamant that there was nothing wrong with finding minors sexually attractive.

“So you’re saying you’ve never seen a 15-year-old girl, at any point in your life, that you thought was hot?” Yiannopoulos asked Rogan. “Yeah, when I was 15!” Rogan responded. “I’m not retarded dude.”

It's not pedophilia to have sex with a 15-year-old. It's ephebophilia, an attraction to adolescents. Ephenbophilia is illegal and immoral and sleazy, but it's not the same as having an attraction to a ten-year-old and to state so is not accurate. I see this all of the time and it bugs me.

Kids that age are certainly on the threshold and/or entering sexual maturity, but few would argue they are capable of making informed consent in relation to an adult.

nature of the crime (I am not saying that you are doing this). As for the idea that a thirteen year old is entering "sexual maturity" is in itself difficult to say and determine -- obviously many young women don't start mentruating until age 14 or even 15, the body at 13 is really not prepared for childbirth, and certainly from an emotional angle a young adolescent has a very long way to go to reach "maturity" as a sexual being.

Unsavory types will engage in games that advocate that ephebophilia isn't "that bad," or even that it is natural (many such arguments were made about Roman Polanski's involvement, rape, of a thirteen year old back in the seventies). They will emphasize the end of the age range (18 or 19) instead of what most of them are truly interested in (13-15 year olds). It is still sexual molestation of a minor, and an adult is doing it for complex reasons that definitely involve exploitation, and statutory rape. I have zero interest in trying to argue the gray areas as far as this is concerned and fuck Milo.

A pedophile is a criminal and needs to get treatment. But a person could be an ephebophile and not be a criminal if they only have relationships with adolescents over the age of consent in their state or country. I'm not advocating for ephebophilia, mind you, but it's not pedophilia.
