'Sad!': Trump goes after 'so-called angry crowds' in GOP districts

Source: MSN/USA Today

President Trump took to Twitter Tuesday give to his take on the unrest seen at town hall events across the U.S., citing "so-called angry crowds" that he said are, in many cases, "planned out by liberal activists."

"The so-called angry crowds in home districts of some Republicans are actually, in numerous cases, planned out by liberal activists. Sad!" Trump tweeted.

Angry constituents swarmed town halls expressing concerns about the administration's policies on everything from immigration and health care to public lands.

Fox News aired a segment on its 6 p.m. show Special Report — just before the president's tweet — in which Peter Doocy reported that “some of the chaos from GOP town hall meetings is very well-choreographed by the liberal activists that helped get Barack Obama elected president.”

So, liberals are not real constituents? Perhaps they are alternate voters?

From my Democratic Senator, I have at least gotten the "I'll get back to you" acknowledgement.

I thought (I guess erroneously) that they, Congress, were elected to serve us all.

came on the scene. He has fomented this division.

I, too, attended an event like this, this evening. We held a town hall that our republican congressman declined to attend. We had the meeting without him. At the front of the hall, we placed an empty suit with his picture where his head should have been. We addressed our questions to the empty suit. The meeting was recorded, and the media was invited. I will write about it some more tomorrow when I am less tired. My central committee needs a written report on it also.

It was in Adam Kinzinger's district, the 16th Congressional District in Illinois. He could not be bothered to show up for a town hall. However, on Thursday, he is going to be the keynote speaker for a Republican group in the northern part of our district. We will be there.

In this same community, not that many years ago, angry tea partiers disrupted town hall meetings. The police had to be called. We did not behave that way tonight. Questions can be asked and anger can be expressed without behaving like flaming assholes.

Unlike the tea partiers, this group was strictly grassroots. No one paid for buses or porta potties. The meeting place was donated.

We can plan. So what, trump? Just because you are disorganized and your administration is chaotic, you think other people do not know how to plan? Grow up.

President Obama didn't whine about it & neither has any president prior to this. Even Bush, who claimed it would be easier if it were a dictatorship, especially if he were the dictator, didn't whine about people protesting him. Can you imagine if people had thrown eggs at Trump like they did Bush, the meltdown Trump would have had? The president has the temperament of a spoiled two-year-old.

33. GOP rep pushes back on Trump's tweet about town hall protests
Wed Feb 22, 2017, 10:53 AM
Feb 2017

Even some Republican members of Congress are uncomfortable with Trump's attacks on their constituents.

http://thehill.com/homenews/house/320573-gop-rep-pushes-back-on-trumps-tweet-about-gop-district-protests

Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) on Tuesday pushed back against President Trump’s claim that “liberal activists” are organizing agitated protests in GOP districts throughout the United States.

“They are our fellow Americans with legitimate concerns. We need to stop acting so fragile. I'm proud to defend liberty and the Constitution,” Amash wrote on Twitter in response to Trump's tweet.

"I think it is critical that members of Congress hold in-person town halls like this," Amash said at an event about two weeks ago. "There aren't enough of people on either side of the aisle who do it."
