Pelosi: Republicans Are 'Afraid' Of CBO Score On Obamacare Repeal Bill

Source: Talking Points Memo

By CAITLIN MACNEAL Published MARCH 10, 2017, 11:34 AM EDT

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on Friday morning called out Republicans for moving forward on a House bill to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act without first seeing an analysis from the Congressional Budget Office.

“They are afraid of that," Pelosi said during a breakfast in Washington, DC, for reporters hosted by the Christian Science Monitor, referring to a CBO score that would project how much the bill would cost and how many people would lose their health insurance.

The minority leader said that Democrats did not move forward with the Affordable Care Act in 2009 without the CBO report, and she noted that Republicans at the time called for the CBO to weigh in on the bill before lawmakers began to assess the legislation. She said that Republicans' views on the CBO report have been "inconsistent."

Pelosi also criticized Republicans' focus on "access" to coverage. "It’s a ridiculous argument for them to make," she said, adding that Republicans are either "ill-informed" or they are talking about "access for people with resources."

or table manners.

Actually, to save a massive amount of time, we could try to name things they ARE good with. That would make for a much shorter list.

I mean, she was totally right about Repugs being ill informed, but that is by choice. They just don't give a shit so don't bother to research anything and just make stuff up, like Ryan did yesterday. The third option she didn't mention, they intend to take $ from the poor (and who cares if they die from lack of health care, as long as it's after the next elections) and give it to the rich. That's the only freaking thing they care about in this total bill, giving back to their 1% peers. Healthcare is just the current excuse but they are doing this in every bill they pass. That's what matters to them, nothing else.

make a ton more money from interest payments on debt service, with US citizens footing the bill.

So what if millions die? The goal is ideological purity.
