GOP senator reports hacking attempts after WikiLeaks criticism
Source: MSN/The Hill
Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) reported Saturday that he was facing hacking attempts on "basically every device, every platform, personal and govt" following his recent criticism of WikiLeaks.

Sasse slammed WikiLeaks this week after the anti-secrecy organization published nearly a gigabyte of classified documents describing CIA cyber operations. Federal officials have reportedly opened a criminal probe into the alleged leak.
"Julian Assange should spend the rest of his life wearing an orange jumpsuit," Sasse said in a statement on Thursday. "He's an enemy of the American people and an ally to Vladimir Putin."
Sasse also sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions questioning whether the Trump administration was "aggressively" pursuing Assange's detention and prosecution.

(23,155 posts)He's against leaks now because they targeted him personally. He can now see they aren't his friends, when he thought they were before this. Maybe now he'll take the investigation against Russian hacking more seriously and go after the truth more aggressively? I know, I'm probably just dreaming, but it now could happen, where it wouldn't have before. Also, been thinking, what is Putin's support for drumpf is just a ploy? What if he wants to destroy drumpf after drumpf has given him what he wants and further fuck over America (in his eyes). Putin is not a friend of drumpfs and is just using him as an ignorant, willing, tool.

(17,390 posts)GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump on Monday praised WikiLeaks for publishing Democratic rival Hillary Clintons hacked emails.
I love WikiLeaks, he told listeners during a campaign rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., prompting prolonged Lock her up! chants from his audience. Its amazing how nothing is secret today when you talk about the Internet.
Trump then began reading from sheets of paper some of the details revealed by WikiLeakss Friday dump of Clintons emails.
In a speech behind closed doors, Crooked Hillary said, Terrorism is not a big threat to our nation, Trump said. Terrorism is a big, big threat. We are riding into something very dangerous.
In another closed door speech, she wanted to have open borders and open trade with everybody. There go the rest of your jobs.
