Republican senator: GOP risks losing House majority if health bill approved

Source: ABC News

Republican Sen. Tom Cotton said GOP members of the House should not "walk the plank" by approving the Republican health care bill, warning that it could cost the party the House majority and put the entire GOP agenda at risk.

"I would say to my friends in the House of Representatives with whom I serve, 'Do not walk the plank and vote for a bill that cannot pass the Senate and then have to face the consequences of that vote," Cotton told ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos.

The Arkansas senator went further, saying on "This Week" Sunday that Republicans are in danger of losing their House majority if they approve the GOP health measure, called the American Health Care Act, proposed last week by House Republican leaders and endorsed by the White House.

<snip>

"We have majorities in the House and the Senate and the White House not only to repeal Obamacare and get health care reform right, but to reform our taxes and our regulations and build up our military and accomplish many other things," Cotton said. "And I don't want to see the House majority put at risk on a bill that is not going to pass the Senate."

Hmmmm.... maybe they're not quite in lock-step at the moment. Our opposition to repealing the Affordable Care Act is starting to show some results, let's keep it up.

Even though he is saying a good thing - don't repeal Obamacare, he has framed it in terms of self preservation of the GOP as opposed to how it will help the American People. God how I hate these assholes. It is always about them.

It sure looked like he was freaked out when inundated by the angry questions and responses from his constituents. Their vehemence obviously scared him (although it appears that he thinks the repeal & revenge of ACA is the only thing people are angry about) and he really just doesn't want to lose his seat in Congress. He is a JUNIOR Senator and is already as or more corrupt than the older nefarious & fraudulent Senators.

The hypocrites are running for higher ground to escape the flood of righteous anger & over-due retribution from We The People.

They want to make sure people aren't suffering from their trash healthcare before the 2018 elections - ideally not until after 2020. That way they will have time to screw up banking and investment regulations, Social Security, the Department of Education, the FDA, and the EPA before everybody wakes up and throws their asses out of office.

After they've assured themselves of being re-elected, they don't care who gets screwed.
Is there any Republican who's not a weasel?

Elections are almost 2 years away.
Conservatice voters don't have memories that long.
They will be dying but will totally have forgotten that the Republicans did this to them.
Guaranteed.

concocted by the GOPee to rile up their moronic voters shortly before the 2018 elections. Will override any memory of the ills wrought by the current congress. Hell. this tactic has been working since raygun started screwing the middle and working classes in earnest.
