Trump budget would slice domestic programs, foreign aid

Source: Reuters

President Donald Trump on Thursday will offer the first details of his plans for deep cuts in domestic programs and foreign aid, releasing a budget outline that would boost military spending by $54 billion and seek cuts of the same size in non-defense programs.

Early drafts described by government officials call for dramatic cuts at some agencies: a quarter of the Environmental Protection Agency's budget, a third of the State Department's spending, and across-the-board cuts to other agencies as the Trump administration seeks to beef up military spending.

The numbers in Thursday's budget could differ from those early drafts but some agencies would take a big hit.

"They're really going to be cutting into bone," said Kenneth Baer, a former associate director at the Office of Management and Budget who helped draft President Barack Obama's first four budgets.

We won't stop until our military budget is twice the size as the rest of the world combined. All while shrieking about the rest of the world needing to start paying their fair share toward "keeping us safe." Of course, there is not a peep about the amount of waste and mismanagement in the military budget, but there is money to be made. We will all starve to death so the repukes can play army.

They always ignored Obama's budgets. I hope they continue to ignore presidential budgets. They are under zero obligation to follow them.

if anything we need to cut military spending in half and shift that money to such things as our infrastructure but no the Repugnants would rather waste money and put the country into deeper and deeper debt and their voter base is to damn stupid to realize that.

Once again people who voted for Trump are going to get Trumped the worst and first.

EPA's work mainly helps rural communities much more than urban.

And how is he going to pay for the infrastructure plan and build the stupid wall? Screwing poor people will not free up enough money for all that.
