Ryan: GOP healthcare plan was written with Trump

Source: The Hill

House GOP leadership's ObamaCare repeal plan was written with President Trump, Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said Wednesday.

House conservatives are pushing Trump for changes to the plan, but Ryan said they shouldn't expect anything major.

"Obviously, the major components are staying intact because this is something we wrote with President Trump," Ryan told Fox Business.

Conservatives take issue with the plan's refundable tax credits, which they call "new entitlements," and argue the entire original healthcare law should be repealed.

He long ago declared his unwillingness to work w/ Trump. So is he trying g to spread blame? Trump has already proven his so-called populist preaching was empty pandering—not one of his "promises" has even been remotely attempted to be fulfilled except invigorated bigotry. Interesting to see if he'll accept shared authorship of his worst trust failure yet.

He never takes responsibility for anything he actually does that has negative results, only takes credit for things other people do that have good results.

Drumpf is such an idiot, he wants the bill to be even more regressive than it is now, and even fewer people covered. Of course, he's so stupid he doesn't realize that will make the CBO score for people losing insurance go even higher and push some Senate Repugs even further away from it. He's not smart enough to tackle both crazy House complaints and complaints from Senate and people losing coverage at the same time. Complexity is obviously far above his capabilities, except in being a criminal. He's good at that.

Trump made him do it.

Ryan can count. He knows this can't pass. I think he wants this version to go down to force some changes from Trump. But I'll bet the next version will have a tax cut component too.

However, this is a very transparent ploy. You'd think a player like him would think of a better, less obvious way of sliding the knife into Caeser's ribs on the Ides of March.

The GOP is a fractured mess. The libertarian wing, the conservative wing, and the moderate wing will never agree to anything that can pass the house let alone the Senate.

Repeal of Obamacare exposes all of these fault lines. Pits GOP governors against their Washington counterparts as well.

They have a majority. When Obama was President they were effective in saying no to everything. They can't govern with it.
