President Donald Trump may begin his overhaul of the U.S. tax code as early as late spring, White House spokesman Sean Spicer has told Ireland's Sunday Independent newspaper.
"We are going to have tax reform after we get healthcare completed... I think we are looking at late spring to summer," Spicer told the newspaper in an interview during Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny's visit to Washington late last week.
Trump has vowed to deliver major tax cuts to the middle-class and the business community this year but deepening Republican divisions over a House Republican healthcare bill which has spawned concern that action on tax reform may be delayed.
In a survey released last week, only 16 percent of about 1,000 business, tax and financial executives polled by accounting and advisory firm KPMG said they expected to see tax reform in 2017.

(2,574 posts)And its mega tax cuts to huge corps yet end of subsidies to small businesses who provide employee healthcare. IIt's rightly been called out as a "Massive Tax Cut to the richest masquerading as a healthcare bill."
I think we get the general idea already of the basic Trump tax agenda... further enrich the already obscenely rich and powerful on the backs of working Americans, small businesses with exceptional cruelty to the most vulnerable.
Both the Repub/Trump Healthcare Bill and Trump's budget are already tax "reforms'...huge taxcuts for the richest and paltry crumbs to enhanced misery for everyone else.
No need to wait til Spring, we've already seen the Trump/Repub "tax reform" template.

(1,606 posts)What they mean by "middle class" is such a lie. Meaning the top 10% will get some breaks, all the rest of us schlubs will get to suffer more. Hooray!

(11,862 posts)There is the poor...Some are POOR..then you have the MIDDLE CLASS POOR...then the UPPER POOR...
Same with the middle class...Some are LOWER MIDDLE CLASS...then there is the MIDDLE MIDDLE CLASS...and the UPPER MIDDLE CLASS
the same with the rich...so when they mention 'middle class' they mean the RICH MIDDLE CLASS
See now they can spin like a top...declaring most will go to the MIDDLE CLASS...they just leave out a descriptor or two!

(37,648 posts)They'll sell it as middle class tax cuts. But NO WAY. There will be some small bones thrown to the little people. Otherwise, they wouldn't accept it. But the REAL money is going to millionaires and billionaires...like Trump and the politicians who pass the bill.
This makes me sick.
