President Trump's approval rating sinks lower than Obama's (37%)

Source: Daily News

President Trump’s approval rating has fallen to a new low of 37% since he took office in January, according to the latest Gallup poll.

While 37% of Americans approve of the job the President is doing, 58% disapprove. His approval rating stood at 45% last week, poll numbers showed.

The daily poll results are based on telephone interviews with 1,500 people nationwide and has a 3% margin of error.

Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama, consistently polled approval ratings in the low 50s and his disapproval ratings were in the mid-40s all throughout March 2016, according to Gallup.

"fake news" and the only "real news" are positive stories often from places like Fox News, Breitbart or FreeRepublic which are entirely filled with partisan wannabes that wouldnt know honor, integrity, truth or a fact if it came up to them and smacked them in the face.

Like the weak chicken-shit he is. That man has never seen adversity in his life and he has no idea what to do with it. No, his bankruptcies do not count. The reason he never wound up in the poor house is because he always separated his personal wealth from his business wealth. Trump Casinos can all burn to the ground and his daily lifestyle won't change one bit. He will never lose his Park Avenue address. He has no idea what real work is.

because they actually agree with his racism, misogyny, xenophobia and Nazi-ish nationalism and find his boorishness to be charmingly macho. They will never be convinced that he is anything but the savior who will Make America Great Again. There will also be others who are probably starting to figure out that he isn't what they voted for and is likely to screw them, but human nature being what it is, can't bring themselves to admit they were fooled. I do think his approval ratings will drop more but will plateau at some point. Nixon bottomed out at 24% in 1974 when all the Watergate dirt came out but he did manage to hang on to that core of true believers. After he resigned it was hard to find people who'd admit having voted for him, but even then there were some people (a few of my relatives included) who believed he'd been framed.

At no point in American history is there a time when we didn't have racist, misogynist, xenophobic, people living among us in sizable populations. We will always have them until we can come to terms with all that, look it in the eye, and dispel it. And even then, there will be people who've learned hate and will never let it go, they are damaged forever. What we can do is try and save the next generation from their hate and hopefully wait for nature to take its course.

"sinks lower" suggests that there was a point where it was higher. But last week, Trump's approval rating was 45%, and Obama's was consistently in the low 50s.

You have to think of a few things here.

A. You have a block of right-wingers who no matter what will always back the president on "their" side. Remember Bush? That is probably about 25-27%. (CBS recent poll had the number at 21% of die hards but I think it may be a little higher.)

B. You will always have a contingent of people who want to believe in the President no matter what. Say around 5 to 10%.

C. This is all with a good economic situation at least for now. If you start to see some real cracks/recession it will really tank.

But, the bottom will probably be somewhere between 30% to 33% no matter what.

However, if Trump gets into this realm of approval it really isn't good especially for the Congressional Elections, Gubernatorial, and State Elections in 2017 and 2018.
