House Republicans unveil changes to their health care bill

House Republican leaders, racing toward a planned Thursday vote on their proposed health-care overhaul, unveiled changes to the legislation late Monday that they believe will win over enough members to secure its passage.

The changes addressed numerous GOP concerns about the legislation, ranging from the flexibility it would give states to administer their Medicaid programs to the amount of aid it would offer older Americans to buy insurance. They are the product of two weeks of negotiations that stretched from the Capitol to the White House to President Trump's Florida resort.

The bill's proponents also appeared to overcome a major obstacle Monday after a key group of hard-line conservatives declined to take a formal position against the bill, known as the American Health Care Act.

The House Freedom Caucus has threatened for weeks to tank the legislation drafted by House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.), arguing that it does not do enough to undo the seven-year-old Affordable Care Act. If the group of roughly three dozen hard-right GOP members uniformly opposed the bill, it could block its passage. Their neutrality gives the legislation a better chance of passage when the bill is expected to hit the House floor later this week.

winning a clear majority in the House and then moving onto the senate majority in 2020 followed by a massive investigation into things like the Repugnant super PACs to investigate any collusion between them and the Repugnant candidates also a number of varies corruption investigations which are long overdue followed by multiple indictments and convictions.

I haven't seen a Democrat in years come along and investigate and prosecute these people. Obama had a chance to do this and took a different road. That might have been our last chance for the government to correct itself. We are now in full frontal fascism. Too late!

But they've given the Senate a way out by allowing them to set the tax credit amounts. That avoids a CBO analysis of how expensive this will actually be. The Senate can pass "generous" tax credits so that the key impacted demographics (50-65) aren't hit as hard, get the AARP out from active opposition, and pass something that costs just as much, but provides less.

ACA took DECADES to put together and several months to finalize once Obama was elected.

Heck the healthcareDOTgov website ALONE was in ALPHA & BETA development for TWO YEARS.

BTW, Insurance Corporations were PAID several million for the web page beta and even they fucked it up so much, other experts had to be hired to fix the website.

Obama was in office for 8 years. Are you claiming Democrats were working on ACA legislation prior to GWB? Not sure where you're getting decades unless you're counting the time from Clinton's term to Obama's and that the Democratic Party was actually writing the ACA during both Bush'es terms so it would be ready for Obama? 9. Let's be clear, this isn't a Healthcare bill, but rather a tax cut for the 1%

The repeal of the net investment tax of 3.8 % on investment income over $250,000 (joint/married) is the give away the Republicans have been wanting for their donors.

Their cries of Budget deficits fall on deaf ears in this "Coastal elite" household.

11. Planned diversion!

Change the plan at the last minute to try to avoid senior anger, but take away all help more quickly from really poor people. CBO would strangle this revised bill as all the savings would be destroyed. This shows the sheer hatefulness of the bill, taking away life from poor people just so the rich can have a few more thousands of dollars to stash overseas. Heinous Killers!
