GOP Rep. Scott Perry Says Chesapeake Bay Pollution Is Gods Fault

Source: Huffington Post

A Republican congressman from Pennsylvania claims that God is a polluter.

Rep. Scott Perry was asked at a town hall in Red Lion on Saturday if he supported President Donald Trump’s proposed cuts to the Environmental Protection Agency in light of Pennsylvania’s “history of environmental problems.” “Don’t we need a stronger EPA to protect the environment?” the questioner asked. Perry, who has worked to restrict and limit the EPA’s abilities, didn’t directly answer the question.

Instead, he spoke of the Chesapeake Bay strategy, which he said was “forced on” the state and “left some violators out.”
Then he added:

“And by the way, some violators ― if you believe in, if you’re spiritual and you believe in God ― one of the violators was God, because the forests were providing a certain amount of nitrates and phosphates to the Chesapeake Bay.”

The crowd can be heard shouting in disbelief as Perry spoke.

“Oh, c’mon,” one person cried out.

At least one local religious leader took issue. Rev. Mitch Hescox, head of the Evangelical Environmental Network, told PennLive that while some pollutants are naturally occurring, most are from fertilizers and chemicals.

getting psychopaths put into a position of power ranting on what he said.

Blaming the state and having the state forced to clean up shit, so fish, birds, and other critters , and even us humans can have clean water to live.

This states rights ass**** wants to have it both ways, he wants the state to have more power over daily lives and then when states in the watershed try to get a better bay and surrounding creeks and rivers cleaned up, he blames the states ----------go figure.

Hey Red Lion------------why do you have him in office-------------I mean really? He makes $174,000 a year and he only worked 110 days last year doing what?
Coming up with his BS, he wants to "hurt" you on everything from health care to water

Com'on he is fascist, his answer shows that he doesn't give what flying F about you

(above is paraphrased)

Aside from mind blowing stupidity he used to concoct his position, he ignores that trees help to prevent pollution. The purest water comes from streams and rivers that are forested.. They run cooler, less sediment, support more life. The problems surrounding the Chesapeake stem from too much urbanization with the subsequent lawn chemicals flowing into waters. The massive factory farms of the Eastern shore are also a major factor. This rube needs to learn some basic science.

sailing in the Chesapeake and seeing whales and fish so thick in the water that one could put a cooking pot in the water and draw out some fish. Yah, that God- guy did a job on the bay. A few years back the bay was so bad even the famous Chesapeake soft-shell crabs were in danger of being wiped out.
