A Mexican newspaper blasted a group of young Americans visiting Cancun on spring break after witnesses said they broke into chants of “Build that wall” earlier this month and refused to stop, despite complaints.

In an editorial published Friday, The Yucatan Times said the incident was not isolated but was part of a growing number of complaints about “offensive, rude and haughty” spring break tourists who flock to Mexico for vacation.

Newlyweds Suly and Anaximandro Amable took to social media on March 6 after they said they attended a show on the “Pirate Ship” out of Puerto Juarez as part of their honeymoon, according to The Yucatan Times and social media posts.

Suly Amable wrote on Facebook that she and her husband were getting off the boat after the show when they heard the chants.

I know Mexico does (Or did) have some relatively pleasant bus for intercity travelers, but those don't sound like the sort that the authorities down there would use for deportees.

They're usually just held at the local jail rather than sent to immigration detention. But yeah, then it's on the bus to whatever border crossing is deemed convenient. And US Customs is naturally very accommodating to their countrymen who have probably lost their ID and passport along the way. Mexico is supposed to request travel documents for deportees but usually don't bother unless they're Hispanic.

As a matter of fact, it altered my travel plans for a long-desired trip to warm places in late February. This year, the current incarnation of the Grateful Dead played two weeks later. In between weekend events, country act Luke Bryan had a similar style weekend-long event called Crash My Playa and from accounts from friends of ours who stayed through both events said that the Luke Bryan event was absolutely disgusting.

The level of disrespect and abuse of the resort and their staff was beyond anything they had ever witnessed traveling abroad.

Several of the staff members had mentioned that they would not volunteer for extra hours if this event were to be held next year because of the way that they were treated by the country music fans.

The staff mentioned many times how willing they were to accommodate the Phish and Dead fans, and that they wish the country music events were never held at the resort in the future.

So to read this OP doesn't surprise me in the least.
