Congressman responds to report that Trump said he was 'destroying the Republican Party'

Source: Yahoo News

Rep. Charlie Dent on Sunday would not deny a report that President Donald Trump told the Pennsylvania Republican that he was "destroying the Republican Party."

In an interview on "Meet The Press," anchor Chuck Todd asked Dent to confirm a New York Times report that the president angrily said he would blame Dent for the failed Republican healthcare legislation — and if tax reform succumbed to a similar fate.

"I'm not going to deny that," Dent replied. "I listened very respectfully to what the president had to say. But my bottom line is this: This discussion has been far too much about artificial timelines, arbitrary deadlines, all to effect the baseline on tax reform. This conversation should be more about the people whose lives are going to be impacted by our decisions on their healthcare."

Republicans were forced to pull their healthcare plan on Friday after party leaders failed to successfully placate the most conservative members of the House while maintaining support from moderates like Dent.

...free marketeers into protectionist isolationists, flag wavers into traitors, and the one time "Party of Lincoln" (although that was a very long time ago) into Klansmen and "Law and Order" believers into anarchist lynch mobs.

They did all of this for a shallow con man living on Viagra and golf games.

The Republican Party is destroying itself because it is demonstrating that the only principle they have is to seek power for its own self, which is to say, no principles whatsoever.

for their rubes (the dolts who vote for them) is the evil liberal boogyman.

This all was in building LONG before November 8th.

Decades of the steady, angry, non-stop beat of talk radio and all of the other conservative media profiteers and the elected officials painting this craven liberal that was at the heart of all things evil.

The ends justifies the means, the ends justifies the means.

This has been going on so long, with regression, they had no idea WTF they stood for when DJT came down that elevator.

BHO was correct, the party is responsible for him.

Republicans know his history and his personality, yet their party backed him & voted for him. Live with your president- Republicans.

Just a matter of time before the right wing claims that the Clintons put Trump up to running as a conspiracy to destroy the Republican Party and that every crazy thing Trump does is the Clintons' idea.
