Ryan Heckled At First Solo Event

DES MOINES, Iowa — Paul Ryan's remarks at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines today turned into a confrontational scene when hecklers sought to drown him out and then rush the stage.

Ryan had barely begun speaking when a woman shouted, "Are you going to cut Medicare?"

Two women rushed the stage, and one was apparently arrested by three Iowa State Patrolmen after getting on stage with a banner.

"Woah...hey...alright...she must not be from Iowa" said a dumbfounded Ryan as the woman got on stage.
The officers bounded out from behind the stage to pull her down, saying "She just punched a volunteer."

Ryan continued to deliver his stump speech over shouts of "stop the war on the poor", "stop the war on the middle class" and "stop the war on the common good" with those heckles at times drowned out by chants of
"U-S-A."

Paul Ryan Interrupted By Hecklers In Iowa (VIDEO)

Rep. Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney’s new vice presidential running mate, was interrupted by several protesters at a campaign event at the Iowa State Fair Monday.

Update: Cherie Mortice, who participated in the protest, told TPM in a phone interview that it was organized by Iowa Citizens For Community Improvement, a nonpartisan progressive group in the state. They are the same group that heckled Mitt Romney at last year’s Iowa State Fair, prompting his famous response that “Corporations are people.”

“Our concern with Ryan is that he wants to cut social benefits like Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, which we feel have been an extremely important safety net for the middle class and poor in this country,” Mortice told TPM.

No, I don't mean the zombie-eyed people they bussed in for the event.

It's so telling that not once since Romney announced him, has Yahoo had Ryan on the "trending searches" They're more interested in Taylor Swift's new mansion. go figure. America is NOT in love with the guy, despite what the MSM is trying to push.

They approved the people coming on the stage and it looks so bad, when this is worked into their ad and shown everywhere.
Please ..... I believe that these people will do anything including stagging what looks like a spontaneous event. If Rove and company can make it look like we, those opposed to Ryan, are the radicals, not them, well they might get some sympathy... They are amoral..They hate us and they would do something like that..They will do anything to win.

He represents nothing short of a war on the people.

And President Obama also needs to be pinned down publicly and forced to make a stand on opposing austerity and not cutting safety nets. Nothing like the Grand Bargain, ever again.

We have had enough. It is time for the people to be clear that we will not accept a war on us from those who are supposed to represent us.

A non partisan group, progressive or otherwise, has no declared ties to either party. I once marched with a non partisan anti war group in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and they were probably more progressive than me. But they did not call themselves Democrat, Republican, Green, Libertarian, or anything else like that. They were Iowans against the war or something like that and they publicly backed no candidate.
