Cornyn: Missouri 'not a winnable race'

Texas Sen. John Cornyn, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said on Thursday that he does not intend to put money into the race of controversial Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin.

“We have no plans to do so,” Cornyn told The Courier-Journal in an interview just a short time ago.

“I just think that this is not a winnable race,” he said. “We have to make tough calculations based on limited resources and where to allocate it, where it will have the best likelihood of electing a Republican senator.”

without Akin, there likely goes their Senate majority they so covet.

Plus they are gonna have to drop a slew of cash in Massachusetts to keep the state.

but I think the 'Ladylike' comment just made the GOP realize that supporting Akin would really hurt what little support they get from women.

I am sure some millionaire will provide the money and Cornyn is not going to refuse Akin in his caucus if he wins.

It's kind of scary. Getting a little star power there might help her keep her seat for another six years. Unless there are enough racist idiots there to spark a backlash. I don't really know the situation on the ground that well.
