White House: Obama To Say Debt Deal Must Ask Wealthiest To Pay Higher Tax Rates

Source: TPM

DAVID TAINTOR 9:43 AM EST, FRIDAY NOVEMBER 30, 2012

A White House official previews President Obama's remarks in Pennsylvania today on the fiscal cliff:

Today in Pennsylvania, expect President Obama to make clear that any deal reached with Congress must ask the wealthiest to pay higher tax rates. The President will be clear that the House needs to follow the Senate's lead and act so that 98 percent of Americans don’t see their taxes go up at the end of the year - and he will call on Congressional Republicans to stop holding the middle class tax cuts hostage simply because they refuse to let tax rates go up for the wealthiest Americans.

I remember all of their ridicule of so-called "pointy-headed intellectuals".

Like Anonymous, I don't forget and I don't forgive...and I am not going away.

If the Repukes refuse to bother to think...then they need to go away!

"REPUBLICANS raised taxes on 98% of America to give to the wealthiest 2%" Should be the line repeated over and over. Call out the Republicans involved by name, until we have the house.

Hit them hard on this, and don't stop. At every press conference, on all the Sunday talk shows, and when democrats come home, hit them on this in their districts. This is a winning fight, all we have to do is stand tough and don't back down.

Republicans have majority in house and control what is brought up to vote. That is why Obama is trying to put pressure on Gop by
going to the people so they will contact their representatives to make them vote, on bill already sitting in House of Representatives waiting for vote. They should have put pressure BEFORE election on the Tea Party, we would be having an easier time of it now.
A lot of republican agree with middle class tax cuts and higher taxes on the upper two percent. Gop don't want vote because it might go through, because Gop is the party of tax cuts. Would they hold middle class hostage again, to spare the rich a 4.6% tax hike on their
Net income OVER $250,000. Net income under $250,000 includes the rich.
The reason Obama is out with the people, is because Washington backroom deals don't work because of lobbyists and money special interests.

Dems need to keep the pressure on in public.

New line "UP OR DOWN VOTE! UP OR DOWN VOTE!"

I think the Pubs did that a while back?

Republicans don't seem to understand that the majority of americans want the tax rates to go up on the rich, they want to end the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy, and even the vast majority of republicans want this! They "claim" to be doing the will of the people, but the only people they are helping are the rich and corporations.

They lost the election, the people have spoken, now republicans need to stop all the BS and start doing their job!
